Do I have to become a member of the Guild to be in one of your plays?
No! You don't have to join to be involved in any aspect of our productions. That said, we do love adding people to our theatre family, and joining the Guild gives you the added benefit of having a say in what plays we produce in the future, and having a voice in major Guild business decisions. And at $10/individual or $20 for a family membership (annually), the price for
joining can't be beat!
Can I audition for one of your plays?
Yes! We are an all-volunteer, non-Equity community theatre that welcomes anyone to come
audition.
Do I have to pay to be in one of your plays?
No indeed! You don't have to be a member, and there are no mandatory fees, dues or charges associated with your participation at STG. Just come on out and be prepared to have fun!
I can't act or sing or dance! Is there another way I can help?
You'd be surprised at how many people are needed to pull of even the smallest of plays, let alone a big musical! Can you sew? Run a sound board? Swing a hammer? We could use your help! And even if you don't have one of those skills, getting involved at STG is a great way to learn them from folks who have been doing it for many years.
There's a softer side to involvement at STG, too. You can get involved as an usher or concessions salesperson, box office staff, and many other jobs. What a great way to meet new friends!
What time do the shows start?
Generally our shows start at 8PM on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and at 2:30PM on Sunday afternoons. We'll try to keep you updated if a special event or performance starts at a different time.
How early should I get to the theatre before a performance?
You can arrive at the theatre up to one hour before the scheduled start time. The lobby will be open and concessions will be available.
One half-hour before the scheduled start-time, the doors to the auditorium will open and you will be welcome to make your way to your assigned seat, relax and get ready for a great show!
I'd like to see STG perform a particular play or musical. May I make a suggestion?
Absolutely. We love our patrons and want to provide them exactly the type of entertainment that they're looking for. Simply
suggest a show and we'll put it under consideration. Please be aware that lots of factors go into selecting plays, and we can't guarantee that your suggested play will be performed. But we love to hear your ideas, and they help us to understand what our audiences are looking for!
I'd like to help out. Where can I find an updated list of donation items needed?
I have some old clothes/furniture/geegaws/doodads that I know you'd love to use in a play. How do I go about donating these items?
Thanks for thinking of us! We are always in need of certain specialized, unique and unusual items of clothing, furniture, household items, etc. We'd be happy to take a look at what you've got, but our limited storage space doesn't allow us to accept every donation.
Just
contact us and let us know what you'd like to donate and we'll make arrangements for a meeting if it sounds like something we could use. However, if you have 1980's-era leg warmers, you may be better off donating to Goodwill...
Are donations of cash or goods tax deductible?
Maybe! But you're not donating just for a write-off, are you? It's all about being a blessing for a community theatre that has worked at enhancing its community for 50 years!
Right?
