Busybody

Detective Harry Baxter is plagued by a head cold and two busybodies - a corpse that vanishes and the officious cleaning lady, Mrs. Piper, who found it. The wrong alarms are sent out; murdered men turn up very much alive, and the whole thing is chalked up to the cleaning lady's imagination until one night when an unidentified body is found. Did the owner of the business stage his own murder? Or did he kill his wife's lover? A really hilarious play which centers on a loquacious cleaning woman who keeps telling the cops how to do their business, and who steps forward with the right evidence in a pinch. A thousand laughs.
